Overview
Piritahi Marae whānau are excited to guide you through the ngahere (bush) of Atawhai Whenua (Forest and Bird Reserve) and over Piritaha maunga (mountain) to Piritahi Marae.

During the walk we will share with you the Māori creation story and some kōrero (stories) related to the plants we see. Once at Piritahi Marae there will be a pōwhiri to welcome you on to the marae. Following this we will share some kōrero of the wharenui (meeting house) and the whakairo (carvings). The walk will be led by wonderful local Bianca Ranson.

The fee for this walk is koha for the Marae, and includes tea and biscuits after the powhiri.
